(3 left outside, 2 vehicles, are we letting any get away?)
In a sense her logic had been the same as his, she had picked a side. Bishop was just thankful she had picked the right side. Adelaide didn’t know the raiders they were up against, technically she couldn’t have even known if the alleyway would have held a friend either. But she wasn’t a child and it wasn’t his place to go telling her she could have gotten herself killed.
Walking out the front door held that danger now, after all.
“Point taken,” He answered with what could possibly past as a sheepish smile, if he had the ability to feel truly sheepish about something.
If his count was right there were three guys left outside the barber shop. His gaze flicked in that direction before fixing back in on Adelaide as she asked her question. His answer was interrupted by another explosion and the instinctual reaction to turn away from whatever debris was kicked up by it.
When he turned back his attention was caught by a flash of blonde hair as Teagan ran by the opening of the alleyway. Bishop found himself cursing right along with Adelaide. "Fuck," he grit his teeth gathering himself before adding. “No, we don’t know that guy,” The words came out like a hiss. “And now T’s gone and put herself in the same space as him.” Helping the man from a distance was one thing, but up close, how could she know that he wouldn’t take her out just like he had some of Dugger’s goons?
He felt like he was watching some kind of invisible tennis match the way his eyes kept shifting from the opening of the alleyway and back to the redhead. What did he want her to do now? She said herself that she was a liability up close, but could he leave her in the alleyway and expect her to be safe? His options sucked, but at this point he didn’t have much choice.
Leave her alone in the alleyway to face trouble, or send her into the shop to face trouble….both were not ideal. One just came with backup. Which was why he found himself making his decision swiftly.
“Look, I don’t know if that guy in there is safe or not, but T’s in there and I trust her to handle herself,” Bishop didn’t like it, but he knew Teagan could take care of herself. “So I’m going to distract those bastards and you’re going to make a run for that shop.” This wasn’t a suggestion, it was said with a note of finality. Adelaide may be one tough woman, but right now she was a fish out of water. She had asked him what he wanted her to do, and now he was telling her.
Inching towards the open, Bishop peered out around the corner of the building and took note of where the three goons were. With one quick glance over his shoulder, he didn’t spare any time in asking her if she was ready, he just leapt out of the alley’s opening and hollered. “GO!”
All three heads snapped towards him and the three men advanced in his direction as he moved towards the still running vehicles. There concern for whoever the guy was in the building was dimmed by the fact that to them it looked a hell of a lot like a Hellhound was trying to steal one of their vehicles.
For a man as tall and broad as he was, Bishop could move pretty damn fast. He spared only a glance back over his shoulder to confirm that the raiders were paying attention to him and not to Adelaide, and he sent a silent prayer up to whatever God there was for things to remain that way.
“You guys really should keep a better eye on these things,” Bishop remarked, dodging to the left as a bullet whizzed by him. “Didn’t anyone ever tell you not to leave ‘em running?” He was retching the driver’s side door open on one of the trucks and climbing into the cab by the time the first goon reached him.
