Marina did her best to ignore Alejo all together, knowing that if she looked at him and saw any sign of concern in his face, she would say something sassy and that would just make this entire situation worse.
Sparrow wouldn't be doing this for no reason. If she'd learned anything in the decade she'd been with him, it was that everything had a reason. He didn't make snap decisions based on emotions because he didn't have any.
As soon as he started circling her like a piece of meat, she knew the first punch would be thrown soon. That didn't make it any easier to deal with though. He got her right in the gut and it felt like all the air in her lungs had been stolen.
Falling to her knees, her hands caught her before she face-planted into the ground and she just leaned there, gasping for breath for a few moments. When she was finally able to speak again, she wheezed, "Get Alejo out."
