Who: Olivia Jensen & Savannah Posey
Where: Oval House @ LBJ District
When: Backdated slightly to 10/7, after this Freenet conversation
What: Savannah does some investigating
Busy scrolling through a never-ending Instagram hashtag feed, grateful for the novelty of it and the connection to the outside world, Olivia startled obviously as Savannah took a seat next to her on the couch. "Hey," she said, setting her phone aside. They didn't usually spend time together one on one at night, since usually Maizie was always around, but she didn't mind the company. "What's up?" Without waiting for invitation -- because, honestly, with Liv the invitation would never come -- Savannah leaned over and gave the girl a one armed hug and a kiss on the top of her head before moving back to her side of the couch. Grinning over, Savannah said, “Since when did you start callin’ me mom?” Her tone a touch amused, but mostly flattered to be bestowed such a title from someone who was so hard to win over. Olivia scowled; she'd managed to successfully forget she'd had that slip on the Freenet, then replied to her own slip of a comment twice before the guy she'd been talking to replied to the whole damned thread so she couldn't delete anything. "You saw that, huh?" she asked, though it was an obvious question with an obvious answer. It wasn't that she wanted to take it back, though; she just hadn't meant for it to come out like that. Or like, ever. "I don't know." She was silent for a moment, knowing Savannah wouldn't let her leave it at that, before she added: "Maybe a few months in my head." “You know I’m not mad at you, right? I’m real flattered, sweetheart, that you think of me like that in your life. And it makes me want to work hard to to earn that title from you. I just wanted to let you know that,” Savannah said, the expression on her face amused at Liv’s trademark grouchyness, despite the emotional meaning of their conversation. "Yeah, I know." Olivia hadn't ever thought Savannah would be mad, exactly; it just wasn't something she was very good at figuring out, let alone explain out loud. She didn't have a lot of practice with this kind of thing. Funny how two years ago, they'd been only been friends before somewhere over the last year, it'd shifted into something else without them ever having talked about it or whatever. She turned to look over at Savannah then, her eyes narrowed slightly. "What do you mean, 'earn it from me'?" A laugh escaped before Savannah could really stop it, causing a defensive look to flicker on Olivia's face. With a shrug, Savannah said, “It ain’t like you’re easy to win over, honey. So you can’t think I take any of this lightly.” Added to the fact that from what Savannah knew, it wasn’t as if Liv had good relationships with her actual parents, so it was even more daunting to try and fill that role. "Oh." As far as Olivia was concerned, Savannah was already that in her mind. And maybe she'd filled that role for her longer than she'd been aware of; even when she tried to think about Savannah as just a good friend and roommate, it felt nearly impossible. Despite them being not all that far apart in age, Savannah was still someone who motivated her and bought groceries and cooked breakfast and yelled at her to clean up after herself instead of leaving her sweaty clothes on the floor. "Well, I mean. I guess it's cool that you, you know." Olivia shrugged, too, an evasive, embarrassed look now on her face. "Take this seriously. Even if this was kind of an accident. You and me, I mean." “Well I hope you know I ain’t sorry about it.” Thinking back on Pete’s words from last night, she said, “Everythin’ feels like it’s the way it should be. So if you’re happy then I am too,” she finished with a smile. Olivia was quiet for a moment, considering this. "Yeah. I mean, I am happy about it. Even though sometimes it's annoying to not be my own boss anymore." She was joking, really, with an underlying current of truth. Still, it was nice to know this wasn't just in her head. That it was reciprocated and stuff. She lapsed into silence for another minute before adding, "Do you like… Want me to call you that?" “Yeah, I think I’d like that,” Savannah said, giving Olivia another one-armed hug before pulling back and moving to get off the couch. “I gotta go finish up a few things before I start dinner. Do some homework, okay?” She said, her voice amused in light of Olivia declaring that she wasn’t her own boss anymore. Well if she was going to do this mother thing she was going to do it right. "Okay." Olivia glanced over at Savannah, watching her leave for the kitchen, before she picked up her phone and stood up from the couch. She'd basically seen everything on her Instagram feed, anyway. Maybe she could fit in some reading before dinner after all. |
