To be fair, Sarge has looked pretty irritated since he stepped out of his hut, but Sonny's remarks do manage to coax that extra bit of irritation out of him, which is actually pretty remarkable. For his part, Sarge does try to ignore that Teagan is in fact a female most of the time, because things are too complicated otherwise. She's one of them, she has earned her patch and the lack of respect rubs him the wrong way every time. But Rodeo is right and they better pull their heads out of their asses, Sarge assumes he should maybe lead by example even if he really doesn't want to.
It takes a moment before he has arranged the yet unspoken words in his head, weighed and measured and prodded for possible weak points. And there is at least one aspect of what Rodeo just said that doesn't need any further inspection. "If Adealide says he's a friend and trusts him that's all I gotta know. Don't mean he ain't fixin' to impress the idiots holdin' his leash by catchin' himself a Dog King." Instead of looking at everyone surrounding the table Sarge is very busy looking up at a spot somewhere over his head, which makes it easier to forget that he would like to throw a few punches to express his gratitude for the party planning efforts. "Would say it ain't worth the effort if he hadn't let you go before. Might have a brain he uses up there. You trust him to really meet one on one?"
