Mina felt a sense of loss when Jane pulled her hand away, though to her friend's observing eye it could have appeared she was just sad and lost in thought about the confession she'd just made. And that was definitely a factor to the slightly downtrodden demeanor Mina was sporting, but not all of it. She'd had a few days to make her peace with it and she'd even signed up for that silly speed dating event Cherry was hosting, though "signed up" was a loose translation of how Cherry had done that super convincing thing she did that could practically make Mina do anything. (How else did someone as straight-laced as her end up in a college sorority, after all?)
"Um, I told my dad. On the 4th of July, when Cherry was having a birthday part at the Bar. My friend Rose supplied me with some liquid courage, though she didn't know what she was supplying it for and was mostly just trying to cheer me up after one of Cherry's Hellhound friends thought it was okay to talk to the Police Chief's daughter--" she stopped, taking an inhale of breath with a sheepish look, then continued, trying not to word vomit quite as much. "I think he already knew because of that Freenet post Cherry made but he wasn't upset or anything. He just wished I had told him sooner, which is understandable..."
She shrugged, not sure what else to say. After finally revealing her biggest secret to her dad, in the end it had felt a little anti-climactic. It was so built up in her head and actually turned out to not be a big deal, just like Jane had predicted.
