Jane glowered; not at Mina but at her (or, really, anyone) going to the Dog Park for carousing. She knew Mina was a grown ass woman but Jane didn't trust any of those Hellhounds as far as she could throw them and for Mina to go off with only Cherry as protection against dozens and dozens of drunken, asshole felons set her teeth on edge. She was fully aware it wasn't her place to judge, or worry, or have any say or opinion in what Mina did or who she associated with but knowing she had been out there with those heathens, all of them imbibing, freaked Jane out a little. Or a lot.
"I'm glad I didn't know until now," Jane replied because she wasn't about to lie to Mina. "I probably would have tried to get your dad to send a half a dozen black-and-white's down with the sirens blaring to break up the party. But I'm glad you both made it out okay."
Jane knew she had very little room to talk, seeing as she had met with Bunny in the interim since she'd seen Mina last. Sure, there was a difference between meeting up with an old friend (but who was living with the fucking Hellhound president) and partying with felons but the thread connecting them - both women overlooking their better judgment about the club because a pretty lady who had once lived at the Dog Park wanted them to - wasn't lost on Jane.
"While you were fending off handsy Hellhounds, I was out embarrassing myself," Jane said with a sigh, snagging a piece of lettuce from her plate and popping it in her mouth. She knew Mina was only just getting out there, albeit covertly, with dating women so while she may not have experienced this exact situation yet, Jane felt like if anyone could commiserate with her awkward encounter with Bunny it was her. "The old projecting feelings onto women who will never be interested in you thing. You know, that old story. It's okay though, or will be eventually."
Jane shrugged, as if to say 'what can you do?', picked up her wrap, and took a huge bite.
