Having this all recorded for history wasn't necessarily his thing, so Bishop just waves off Erik's offer to add his to what he's already recording for scientific purposes. Bishop isn't a scientist, he's just a man who likes to blow shit up. Whatever else Erik is trying to do here is his own concern, frankly all the Hellhound wanted was to figure out if these blobs could be used to their benefit. That and really with everything going on with Sarge, he just needed to let off some steam.
Once instructions had been given and the prospect had set everything up, Bishop cast a glance in Erik's direction and gave the other man a 'what do you think?' kind of look in response to his question. "He knows to get as far away as possible, I ain't looking to blow 'em up," he replied. "I'm just looking to see what they're made of." Bishop wasn't going to go into details concerning how their prospecting phase worked, but it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the Dogs liked to push prospects to see where their breaking point might be.
With one motion Bishop cued the prospect to set off the charge and watched as a sizable explosion followed. So now they knew these things could be used as accelerant. "Well, I ain't the scientist here but looks like your experiment worked," he comments, again glancing in Erik's direction.
