Capt. Babs Greenling (is a ray of f'ing sunshine) (bite_sized) wrote in remains_rpg,
Babs felt her chest all knotted up. She watched Nathan as if he were a predator, going at her to try and banish her bad feelings with words. It wouldn't work, words had never felt better or made anything clearer for her. What had always worked had been doing things. Even in school learning about blood clotting in a book had been nothing next to watching it happen or helping a patient in person. So when Nathan offered her counsel and it fell upon unhearing ears, Babs allowed herself to do two things she hadn't done in so long she almost had to remind her body how to do it:
She hugged him (tight, her arms around his chest and her face buried into his shirt). And then Captain Greenling cried (the way a small child cried, with the inability to fully understand why she was crying or how to stop). Babs cried ugly tears, she made uglier sounds. Her body shook. Her arms ached. Her head began to pound.
