Olivia and Maizie
"I definitely don't miss having eight roommates," she replied, turning her head to better look over at her girlfriend. "Or anyone who was ever on top of me. It's much better to just have you as my one and only." Who knew where they'd be a year from now? Or even if they would've been able to find each other like this if the events of last August hadn't happened?
“Good.” All throughout dinner, while trying to act normal, Maizie had felt herself growing more and more tense. Now, at last, that was all starting to slip away again, and she knew she had Liv to thank for it. As emotional as she'd been today, though, just thinking about how lucky she was would only end with her crying for a whole different reason. Instead she lifted her head from where it rested against her girlfriend’s, and used a hand to tilt Liv’s face until they were looking at each other.
“I love you,” Maizie said simply. Kissing Liv in this position meant ducking her head at a funny angle, but it was totally worth the pinch in her neck. They probably ought to go back inside in a few minutes, but for the moment they could just enjoy the night air and the stars in the sky above them.
