It intrigued him as it always did how warped reality became for those who dwelled beneath the surface. Emilie, like a lot of Ghouls, seemed to have somehow forgotten that it was the sun that provided warmth and life. Light and though it was much harder now, the means through which to grow crops to live.
But instead of basking in it or otherwise appreciating it, the Ghouls seemed to relish the darkness. Sometimes Kyle thought it was because it provided a means through which they could hide from the shame of what they had become, other times he just figured the darkness simply made it easier for them to hide their precious wash from any prying eyes. Whatever the real answer, he had seen enough to know that the Ghouls certainly lived up to their name.
When Emilie prepared to use it was not something new for him, but it was never particularly easy to watch so that he was thankful she was so focused she did not have her eyes on him all that much. Although when she complimented him he smirked a bit as she began to get her fix.
"And I like your ass", he admitted, not all that worried about offending her given what he had brought and what she was inhaling. "You can turn it toward me any time you like."
