Cherry hadn't yet moved from the Greenbelt and into the Capitol district -- God, that still felt so weird to think, let alone say -- but she'd been doing her best to spend more time outside of the dustbowl she'd called home for so long, getting used to feeling comfortable moving around Austin. She knew it was only a matter of time before she could rely on a patch to take her into the city, but the prospect of the unknown was exciting.
Once she and her leather-clad chaperone had arrived, she waved him onwards towards the food truck while she waited for Mina to arrive, turning to scan the small crowd as she sought out her face. And then she blinked once, then twice, once she caught sight of a different face but one that was just as familiar.
"Kay?" She bumped into two people who sidestepped around her, not even caring of how rude she was being as she bore down on a man who looked startlingly like her cousin from years before.
