Nick and Bunny - 4:20PM
The days had been so full of stress and worry that it had taken Nick a little while to wind down, to sink into the party and start enjoying himself. He was a positive person, always would be, but there was no escaping the last few days or the strain and stress it had put on everyone. They knew Savannah was safe now, which was a real damn comfort. But that didn’t resolve everything, she was still there somewhere and they were still employing every last one of their resources in trying to find her. Still, even he knew when it was time to take a break, to relax and know that so far they had done everything they could.
Which was why he had come to the party at the bar, well, that and Olivia and Maizie had shown and interest. Which meant Nick would be there regardless, because he disliked the idea of the two girls heading out into Austin while ghouls were still jumping people. Nick for his part had left the two girls to go off to god knows where, content that they wouldn’t get into any trouble within the walls of the bar.
He was currently deep in the mists of people watching -- an old habit -- when a woman’s voice caught his attention and he found himself tipping his head up to look at her. “Evening,” Nick replied with a friendly smile, his Midwest roots showing through in his own twang free accent. “It’s not taken, so if you want it it’s yours,” he continued with a laugh, studying the woman closer now. “You’re the woman who’s starting a greenhouse at the Dog Park, right?” At least he could have sworn that’s what Ruth had told him when he’d inquired about her, even if the information had been given as if he was literally trying to pull her teeth out or something. “I appreciate you coming over and saying hello, by the way. I don’t often get to talk to people who aren’t patches or Ruth when I’m out your way.” Okay, there was also Cherry and a few other people, but for the most part Nick stuck to focusing on work when he was at the Dog Park.
