Nick and Bunny - 4:20PM
It had been a while since Bunny's last trip out of the Dog Park and into Austin. As nice as she felt to be able to shake a little of the camp's dust off her feet for the night, it was just a shame that so many of her memories of this city were tied so firmly to Nate. It wasn't hard to find her thoughts drifting to a different evening, traveling from the Capitol this time, when she'd come out to find him sitting with a whiskey in his hand and wearing that charming grin she'd give her eyeteeth to see again.
Well, there was only one sure way to stave off the heartache of old memories, and that was by making new ones. Bunny aimed to give it the best shot she could. Right now her purpose was to find a face that belonged to someone she didn't see every day -- a new acquaintance, put simply. She'd always loved to meet new people, ascribing firmly to the belief that every stranger was just a friend waiting to be made, and it was with that thought in mind that she skimmed the small gathering of people inside The Bar.
The dark-haired man her eyes finally landed on wasn't completely unfamiliar. Bunny was pretty sure he was from the LBJ, and she thought she remembered seeing him coming out of the resource hangar once before when a group from that shelter was supposed to be in the Park. It was enough of a connection that she didn't hesitate before crossing over to pause by a chair at his table.
“Evening,” she said, by way of greeting. Her Kentucky accent gave the word a slightly different twang than most Texans usually would. “Is this seat taken? I'm not completely sure, now, but I’ve got a reasonably firm belief that I've seen you out our way before, so I thought I'd come over and say hello.”
