There was very little time for Kitty’s alcohol addled brain to register what was happening as Nina pulled her back in for another kiss, this one longer than the first. Somewhere behind the fog of what was happening and the happy feeling it stirred up inside of her, was a voice that was screaming “What are you doing?” And “What’s happening?” Both at the same time. Sober Kitty would have listened to those voices, would have broken off the kiss and launched into some discussion as to what they were doing or where this was going. She wasn’t sober though, so instead of doing that, she leaned into Nina and boldly deepened the kiss. It was returned with fervor as one of Nina's hands reached up to tangle in her hair, only coming to an end when they both ran out of breath.
Nina was quiet for a moment as she looked back at the other woman, trying to catch her breath and, simultaneously, make sense of this new development. It seemed almost inevitable, when she put her mind to thinking through it as best as it could, but the alcoholic haze was still clouding her senses and her feelings on the matter were just beyond her reach. She reached a hand up to needlessly smooth out her hair, then took a step back. The look on her face, though, was anything but unfriendly. "Well, good night."
To say that Kitty was dazed would have been an understatement. Somewhere behind the fog that had been created by the amount of wine she had drank, she could identify each little thing that had lead to this moment and what had spurred her into action. Now that it had happened though, Kitty couldn’t piece together where to go from here. All the eloquence and poise she possessed was lost to the tipsy feeling still holding sway over her. Once she felt like both her breathing and heart rate had slowed, Kitty gave a quiet response of. “Have a safe walk back to your apartment,” as one hand reached up to smooth her hair and the other reached for the door knob. “Goodnight.”
