Jane and Mina - 1:30 a.m.
Jane's touch felt good, even if it was just a squeeze on her foot and her fingers brushing lightly against her ankles as she discarded Mina's shoes. It was pretty sad that this was the most action Mina had gotten in forever. Though Jane was doing a fine job of reassuring her, Mina's brows still furrowed together in thought. She supposed she could understand the logic of it. Hard word deserved to be rewarded, but making herself a priority just wasn't something that Mina practiced often.
"Oh." A deep blush settled into Mina's cheeks and she felt herself trying to sink further into her pillow, trying to escape the way Jane was looking at her. Mina's gaze did tend to linger on Jane longer than normal, and it was nice to know that as farfetched as it might be, at least Jane liked women -- or least used to if having an ex-wife was anything to go by. But she always found reasons as to why it wouldn't work or why it was a bad time.
Sitting in her bed, drunker than she'd been in years, it was difficult to remember the reasons, though. Jane was so beautiful like a statue and brave and she was always so sweet to Mina even though she'd noticed Jane could be a snarky asshole most of the time with other people. But Jane was her dad's APD partner and it wasn't like Mina was even out to anyone. She was 27 years old and still hiding in the closet like a scared little girl.
Her blush hadn't faded, and in fact only gotten redder in the past several moments. Shaking her head, Mina said, "No. I'll just sleep in this. It will be fine."
