Joel and Kitty - 7:45PM
“I will keep that in mind,” Kitty replied with a smile of her own. More than likely she would never take Joel up on the offer, but there was a 1% chance that Zach may do something in the future that would require some kind of retaliation. What better way to get it than have an intimidating lieutenant play twenty questions with him, though? It would be more effective than sending her own father after him she thought.
Kitty moved along with the subject change with ease, nodding her head as she replied. “I am,” to be honest she felt more comfortable talking about her work than she did her ex. Work was a benign subject, whereas she knew every word about Zach was probably being highly scrutinized by Joel -- she only assumed that it was likely a byproduct of his job. “And they are. I mean of course there’s always the one agent who thinks he or she is going to give the new girl a hard time, but I manage to hold my own.” She might not have been intimidating in size, but Kitty had grown up attending private schools and running with a crowd of girls that would make the most intimidating person think twice before messing with them. “Then there’s the guys who think flirting is an entertaining pastime, but again I’ve dealt with worse.”
There was another pause before she added. “Actually, I get more trouble when I step into the APD office than I do when I'm in the DoR,” Kitty wasn’t trying to rat on any of the officers, but there were a few of them she was certain didn't have two braincells to rub together. “Apparently they think the girl from the DoR is free game or something.” She grimaced, making her feelings rather clear on just how she felt about that.
