Joel and Kitty - 7:45PM
While Kitty could not claim to understand the intricacies of a marriage and why it might have been Joel’s wife hadn’t mentioned Zach’s girlfriend -- although the assumption that it might have been to avoid an interrogation seemed fairly accurate -- she found herself smiling apologetically anyway. “I know you don’t truly know me, but I can swear she’s a safe person to leave your daughter with,” Kitty began, before adding. “The same goes for Zach. Obviously he’s the father of my kids, but that doesn’t mean I have to feel comfortable leaving them with him, but I do. So hopefully that’s a small comfort as well.” She honestly didn’t know where she would have been with this whole single parent thing if she's hadn't had Zach right there beside her all these years.
Joel’s admission brought a laugh out of her. “I could see why that might be,” though he didn’t intimate her. But that might very well be because Kitty was used to men like him, ones who took charge of a room or situation without much hesitation. “You shouldn’t be. Zach is trustworthy,” Kitty reiterated and then paused. “Though, I would like to see his reaction to being interrogated, but that might just be my desire for a good laugh sneaking through.”
