Jane and Mina - 1:30 a.m.
Mina gave Mariah a wave from across the room, the way she was relying on the wall to hold her steady all the evidence she needed to know that her step-daughter was a little more than drunk.
With Jane back by her side, and her arm through her own to hold her steady, Mina began to lead them out of the apartment. Her apartment was literally three doors down so the walk was comically short. Fishing her keys out, she unlocked the door, then leaned against the doorframe.
"So, we made it in one piece. I wasn't sure if we'd be able to ford our wagon across the river, but the tides were in our favor," Mina said, giggling helplessly at her own attempt at humor.
