Jane and Mina - 1:30 a.m.
Mina's assertion of the wall's structural soundness only made Jane grin more broadly. It was a nice feeling; she wasn't prone to nor had much occasion for smiling these days. Somehow Mina had made herself an exception to the rule.
"When you're right you're right," Jane said, resting her shoulder against the sturdy surface her friend had so much confidence in. She leaned in closer to better hear Mina over the din of the party.
"Me? I had a pretty excellent time," Jane said, looking around at the revelers still in full party mode and then back to Mina. Joel's middle daughter seemed pretty loosey goosey, despite the posed and proper word choice. But, then again, Mina was always classy as hell. It didn't matter to Jane if Mina had had no drinks or ninety; she just hoped her friend had had a good time as well. At the mention of being tired, Jane's shoulders sunk a bit.
"Are you thinking about peacing out for the night?" Jane asked, her ease and contentedness deflating a bit. There'd hardly be any reason to stick around once Mina left. Joel and Mariah were doing the host and hostess thing, Jane couldn't find Ahna in the crowd, she didn't really feel like talking shop with any of the cops still milling about and she didn't want to stand in a lukewarm wading pool next to people she didn't know or care about.
