New places without anything to focus on made Nathan antsy. Add on top of that the realization that he couldn’t leave the UMCB because of a curfew, amped it up at least another fifty percent. Plus, his roommate was a pain, he hadn’t been joking with Pete about that one. That bad thing, wandering hallways you didn’t know was usually a good way for someone to get lost.
He was lost.
Nathan thought he’d taken the right set of turns to get back to a floor he knew, but he hadn’t been close, and then the only thing he thought might help was a wall map. Until someone interrupted oh so helpfully to point out the inaccuracy of it.
“I was trying to kill time,” Nathan admitted as he turned to get a good look at the woman. She was gorgeous in a kind of way that made Nathan want to rumple her up a little; impeccable would of been the term his mama would have used. “And I’m a little lost now, darlin’,” he tacked on with the honey drawl that he’d never lost in all his California years. He added a smile for good measure, erring on the side of friendliness making a difference.
“You know how to get to the living spaces on the fourth floor?” the wall directory helpfully told him he was on the second still, but there wasn’t a ‘you are here’ sticker anywhere in sight.
