"Saul Bass," she answered immediately, enthusiastically. "You know, the guy who did all of those cool opening credits segments from the '50s and '60s? I compared his use of color spectrum and use of shapes and lines with the soundtrack, and whether the two influenced each other, and whether one was created as a result of the other." Nora didn't know how she delved so quickly into this again - it'd been forever since she'd even written a page of it, and it just came pouring out of her as soon as she was asked. "And then," she added gingerly, because there was more, "I compared the different segments within the opening credits to how he analyzed specific scenes within the film and incorporated it into the credits." Smiling sheepishly, Nora looked down at the table for a moment, embarrassed that it'd come back to her so easily. "Sorry. Kind of nerdy... stuff. I don't know. I just like it." Nora didn't typically get apologetic over something she liked, but she'd virtually screamed Saul Bass in Josh's face, and she probably shouldn't scare him off just yet.
Nora felt her eyes search for something other than Josh when she began to talk about her siblings, but when she felt his hand grab onto hers, her eyes snapped back up to his. His admission caught her off guard, and Nora felt her hand sliding into his more comfortably when he began to tell her something much happier about his brother. "Never would've gotten to meet, you and me! Never would have bothered me in my diner with your coffee and milkshakes and free donuts," she teased.
"What did you really want to do?" Nora asked, curious about the life that he wanted. She had never considered that he didn't want to be a doctor; if he had the potential, then why didn't he? Nora certainly didn't know anything about that life.
