Marina/Noa (shortly before the ceremony)
The more into this 'getting ready' process Marina got, the more real it all became. Obviously she knew what was happening but now that her hair was curled and her makeup was done and she was wearing a white suit (which she still thought was funny as hell, because she and Vic would be matching), well, it was becoming very apparent that she and Vic were about to have a ceremony professing their feelings for each other in front of a bunch of people.
That wasn't the part she was actually worried about -- though she was a private person by nature. It was more the whole "being an old lady" thing that had her freaking out, just a bit. She'd never been someone's wife before but Vic had been married before and most of the people at the Dog Park had even known his wife, Zhenya. Up until this point, Marina had always pushed those comparisons out of her head, but for some reason those insecurities were hitting her full force. After years of being with Emmanuel, they'd never reached this level in their relationship. So was this thing with Vic too good to be true?
Walking over to Noa with two glasses of whiskey, she held one out to the other woman and said, "It's almost time, I think," her nerves radiating off of her.
