Where: UMCB
What: Getting stitched up, with an added conversation that might be long overdue.
When: 3/10/19, around 7PM
The perks of being Solomon Reed’s sister weren’t innumerable, but apparently it included a private room while Torrie waited to be fixed up. A nurse had already been in and out, and determined that Torrie wasn't going to bleed out before Dr. Singh came in, though she had tried to bring someone else in, a doctor that was already on the floor. Torrie had put her foot down though, with as much energy as she could muster. She already felt bad enough, she didn't need to answer some strangers questions about the injuries she’d sustained. Odds were good she didn't have the patience for it either. For her part now she was seated at the end of the exam table, breathing through the aches and pains, counting the ceiling tiles when the throbbing intensified, or she got dizzy. That was probably the blood loss. It was a new feeling, unlike the withdrawal symptoms she’d experienced before; not quite vertigo, but not something she was having all that much fun with either. “You don’t have to stay,” she says to Solomon. It was only after the bird call and the drive back that she realized what kind of danger she might’ve put her brother in her desperation to be rescued. Aizik had gone missing not that long ago, Torrie wasn’t confident that whoever was responsible wouldn’t be gunning for Sol next. “Lita knows I’m here.” A split second decision when she knew she needed help that Torrie didn’t know how she felt about now. “I promise I won’t make a scene.” More of one technically, since she caught a few eyeballs staring at them when they came in. For emphasis she holds her good hand up in a ‘scout’s honor’ gesture, more smartass than serious. |
