Focused and Distracted. Bishop wasn’t entirely certain how that would help Teagan with labor, but he wasn’t about to argue with her either. Mentally he was wishing for more instructions than that, like medically what he should be doing right about now. But he would press for that later, or maybe he would contact Bunny. He wasn’t sure she would know anything that could help him, but just the idea of reaching out for help from her calmed him. He wouldn’t do it yet, not until it looked like things might be happening a little quicker -- but the fact that he felt like he had some internal game plan now steadied him some.
“Nearly got the engine all restored,” Bishop began while he located a couple towels to clean up the trailer and the tell tale signs of the start of labor. “Cheney found the last piece we needed, so it still might not look like much on the outside, but it’s got a hell of an engine in it now.” He rattled on about the truck, doing what Teagan asked and trying to distract her. “By the way, kid seems to think one of these rugrats should be named after him.” Bishop laughed then, turning to look at Teagan with a faint smile, one marred the the obvious panic he still felt deep down at the fact that their Doc couldn’t be here yet.
“What did the Doc say about things we need to do until he gets here?” He could only keep himself from asking that for so long.
