Who: Savannah and Noa Where: Noa's tattoo shop What: Savannah gets some ink When: March 5, 2019 - morning
It had started as a joke at the carnival back in October, Vic saying that she should let his son practice tattooing her, but the more time that passed the more she took the idea seriously. Not necessarily letting Vic's teenage son put a permanent mark on her body -- because she wasn't about to be someone's learning curve for this, and Noa had already nixed that idea -- but getting a tattoo. She had one already; she'd gotten it after passing the bar exam to celebrate her official status as a lawyer. It seemed appropriate for her to get a tattoo to honor Gray because it was permanent and he'd always be with her, even though the shock and devistation had mostly passed. She still thought about him every day so it only seemed right to have do this and have a visual reminder as well.
She and Noa had been tossing ideas back and forth for a while now and finally they'd agreed on a design. After a date was set, after it was all becoming a reality, Savannah talked to Maizie and ultimately invited her along for the day. It was nice to get away from the LBJ every once in a while, and Savannah wanted this to be something they did together. They'd both lost Gray and getting Maizie's approval on this was important to her.
Savannah was slotted to get her tattoo first, and then, Sasha was going to give Maizie a tattoo after under Noa's supervision. The kids had gone to talk about Maizie's tattoo and that left Noa and Savannah alone, ready to get to work.
"Thanks again for doin' this. It really means a lot to me," she said, smiling at Noa. Both women knew what it was like to lose the person they loved and Savannah was glad for their connection. It had made the past few months a hell of a lot easier.
