Kenzie didn't pay any mind to Marcus's reaction to her collection of books. She had simply packed all of her belongings and stuffed her car full until it was ready to burst, before she came back home. There was no sense in wasting money on medical school books and throwing them all away or selling them for half price when she could just hoard them all.
When Marcus got up from the bed, she scooped up Liam and followed him out to the kitchen. She watched him to see exactly what he was doing at each moment, making sure that he knew what he was doing. The book should have outlined enough of the pharmacology so that he could figure it out. "He'll just have to live with it," she said simply, rummaging through a cabinet for some baby food that she had started to stock up on.
Kenzie set Liam on the edge of the counter, right in front of her. "You might as well just do it while you're here. You have to wait out the blobs any ways." She smiled over at him as she took one of the quarters of the pills and crushed it beneath a spoon and mixed it in to the baby food. The first spoon full of food had Liam scrunching his face up as he adjusted to the odd mixture of medicine and applesauce, trying to decide if he liked it or not. His face stayed scrunched and confused over why his mother was force feeding him such a gross tasting food but he didn't spit it out until she got towards the bottom of the little glass jar and he started making little noises. Liam jerked his head away from the spoon and started pushing at Kenzie's hand with the spoon. "Alright, alright, that's good enough," she said as she put the food down and got him cleaned up.
"You wanna play with him?" Kenzie called over to Marcus as she set Liam on the ground so that he could crawl around. The little boy moved a few shuffles across the ground until he rocked back and looked up at first his mother and then Marcus. "He doesn't bite most of the time. And I'd love to tell you he doesn't have rabies, but he doesn't have many vaccinations." Kenzie chuckled a little and leaned against the counter, looking over at Marcus with her arms crossed over her chest.
