Confusion passed over his features when she beckoned him to follow her through the trailer. He'd been expecting her to just demand the pills regardless, and maybe ask for Tylenol, as well. Most people were desperate for magic answers when they were sick, and he imagined parents had to be even worse when acting on behalf of their children. They usually couldn't be reasoned with, and just wanted whatever drug was familiar to them.
"En serio? Bromea? Carajo!" He exclaimed as she opened the closet door to reveal a barebones medical library. Reference books were something he hadn't thought to take with him, and he might have regretted that if weight hadn't been such an issue as it was. There just wouldn't have been any way to transport them even if he had thought of it. His face split open into a wide, toothy grin. "That's fucking lucky -- Sorry."
The pharmacology book wasn't unfamiliar, and after sitting down with it, Marcus flipped through to the antibiotics section to see if there was a dosage guide. Not knowing the extent of the infection, he could still figure out something by age and weight. He glanced over at Liam, sizing him up. No way that kid was over 30 lbs, he figured. Maybe twenty-five at the most. Quarter pills should do it, instead of the half he might have tried. Good to fucking know. "Está bien. Sí. Déjame ver qué puedo hacer. Uh. Yeah, mamí. I think we're good. Come on."
He abandoned the book where he'd been sitting on the bed, detoured to his duffle bag for the right bag of pills (every pill had been removed from its pack or bottle and placed in a ziplocked bag -- sometimes several ziplocks -- so that he could fit more in and move without anything rattling around), and then took them into her kitchen. It didn't take him long to find something sharp enough to divvy a pills in half, and then -- very carefully -- into quarters. It wasn't laser-like precision, but it was a close enough job that he felt comfortable with it. "He's not gonna like the fucking taste, but one of these, three times a day should clear it up. I'll give you six pills. Eight days' worth. Should feel better fast, but make sure he takes them all, anyway, to kick it out of his system. You good with cutting the rest of these when you need to, or want me to do it now?"
