Kenzie considered telling Marcus to just leave the medicine and that she'd figure it out on her own. Or perhaps it was better if she told him that she knew how much to give Liam because she got ear infections a lot as a kid. Kenzie decided against both. "Come," she walked through the trailer to her bedroom with Liam on one hip. Kenzie pulled open a closet door and pointed to a couple of milk crates that were both overfilled with textbooks. "Never thought I'd have to pull my ex's old med school books out but there should be a big blue pharmacology book somewhere in there. That should say how much to give him, right?"
Kenzie let Marcus rifle through the books and sat down on the bed in the meantime with Liam. She grabbed a light cotton scarf and draped it over one side of her chest, pulled herself free from that side of her shirt and cradled Liam, letting him drink. She paid no attention to Marcus looking through the books; she was too busy watching Liam to see if he'd actually eat this time. Kenzie only glanced over her shoulder to see how he was fairing with the books when she was putting herself away and burping Liam.
"Find anything useful?" Kenzie scooted over on the bed and glanced over Marcus's shoulder to see if he had followed her breadcrumbs at all. "That book better have something useful in it. Spent a lot of nights falling asleep to the sound of those pages turning." She smirked at that thought. Medical school had been a pain but it was proving to have been worth it now that her knowledge was a commodity.
