Prospecting
It comes a no surprise to him when Teagan tells him it’s been hard. He didn’t think her prospecting would be a cakewalk, actually he thought it would be anything but. So this just serves as confirmation for Bishop that his gut had been right. But like she said, she was determined and he had no doubt about that. “That doesn’t surprise me,” he answers before taking a drink from his glass.
Bishop has never been one to put much weight behind the gossips in camp, so if people were saying things he hadn’t paid it much mind. “Everyone’s always talking about something ‘round here, there’s been talk about you, none of which I’ve bothered to keep stored in my head, because that’s what it is, just talk.” This is said with a shrug and from someone who doesn’t give much of a damn what other people are saying. “Why you asking? Are you concerned about what people are rattling on about?”
Growing up in a small town, gossip was just common place, but it was also the reason he didn’t bother paying much mind to it - he had learned long ago to ignore ninety-nine percent of what’s said by a gossip.
Raising an eyebrow, he looked straight back at her across the table as she blurted out her question. “I think you’re just doing whatever other living person in this camp is doing, looking for company,” He wasn’t the possessive type, so even if he did think something could've happened between them, it didn’t bother him that she was talking like she might find herself some company. “You want us to treat you like every other prospect, well, the fact of the matter is the rest of the prospects are taking bitches back to their beds at night, so why shouldn’t you be allowed that same luxury?”
