Sorry for the oh-so-long delay over my slowatus/hiatus, but I am back now!
Having Nate be so careful about doing right by her meant a lot to Bunny. She met his eyes and held them for a moment before reaching out to brush a hand through his shaggy hair. "If I thought you were being a right selfish prick, baby -- " The corners of Bunny's mouth tugged up as she echoed Nate's words. " -- I would say so. Maybe not in exactly that way, but I'd get the point across all the same."
Yes, Bunny wanted security for the both of them with a longing that was pointed as an iron spike. But that didn't exist in Austin right now, and sitting out as events unfolded around them was only likely to do harm rather than good. She loved Bishop too, and would never rest easy if Nate's safety came at the cost of failing to help their friend when he needed it.
"I think you're a man whose heart is cracked with worry, and you're going to do the only thing you know how to get you brother back, in the only way you know how to do it. I am part of you. I'm scared as hell for us, but if there's danger in what you're aiming to do, I'd rather face it with you than take any other course of action."
