Of course Bunny didn't want him to go. The plan was foolhardy, and it was dangerous. The thought of Nate anywhere near La Quinta when the Hellhounds tried to break out their officers sent her heart fluttering hummingbird fast, little wings inside her chest beating against the air for all they were worth. She could plead with him not to go -- Bunny had always known she had that option, even when the the world was different -- and odds were he would do as she asked. But she believed what she'd always believed: tie down a soul like Nate's and you risked damaging exactly what you were trying to hold onto. His courage, his dedication, his values were precisely what she had fallen in love with, and if he gave any of them up, it wouldn't be because she made him.
So she nodded. “What's important to you is important to me too. Always has been. And if you need to be with them, we’ll find a way to make it happen.” Her words held more assurance than she really felt, herself, but Bunny’s mind was made up. There wasn't a thing in the world that would make her waver now.
“I'm on your side, baby. At your side, if you need me.”
