Rodeo isn't sure if she is exceptionally bold or tragically stupid. It's big talk for a tiny girl, and even if it impresses Rodeo, it sure wouldn't impress the kind of man who actually acts the way that Rodeo is feigning to. The insecure, the truly brutal, the callous and careless-- they are out there, and Rodeo has no doubt that Persephone could lose her life over boldness like that.
"You're never gonna teach anyone here," Rodeo says flatly, with absolute finality. "We take care of our own. You oughta start doin' the same. If you're the one in charge of that shitshow over there, you better learn to fear sufferin' and death. You lose your life, your shit falls apart. You owe your people somethin' better than that. You should be smarter. You walk into a situation like this again, you're real likely to wind up findin' yourself a guy who actually is willing to put a bullet in a little girl."
