Clearly this girl ain't got a lick of common sense, because the impenetrable security at the Dog Park and the brutality of its men are a thing of legend. The fact that she would walk in smiling, umbrella in tow, apparently not at all afraid of getting shot or worse, makes Rodeo kind of really want to shoot her just to teach her a goddamn lesson. But that might not be the best idea. He doesn't have a clue who this girl is, and no matter how pissed he is, he ain't in the business of gunning down weird little girls. His jaw flexes visibly under scruffy skin as he bites down on the venom, eyes narrowed while he listens to the girl's paltry explanation for her presence.
Rodeo's not really sure which resident of his camp she's referring to. Far behind in spelling, reading, could describe just about half of his men to be quite honest. All of 'em are smart in their own ways, but not many of them are smart in the book learnin' way. Rodeo's gaze doesn't soften at all when she explains her altruistic intentions. If what she says is true, she might very well be just some naive do-gooder who thought coming here would be a charitable act. She should have known better.
Maybe she needs to be taught.
In Rodeo's experience, adversity builds character and good sense. And clearly this girl is in need of both. So Rodeo shifts the barrel of his gun slightly to the right and pulls the trigger. The bullet flies past Persephone's ear, close enough that she can feel the whip of air that follows the shot against her cheek. It should leave her eardrum ringing, and Rodeo's hoping it sends the message that the presence of the gun should have in the first place.
"We don't allow visitors," Rodeo growls out, shifting his aim back to her face. "We're cool with taking prisoners, though." Rodeo points towards a tent in the distance, one that's been used before for questioning outsiders, most of whom were taken to the camp by force. There's a bloodstain on the wall and a bullet hole in the canvas, so if that doesn't scare this bimbo, Rodeo reckons nothing will. "Start walking."
