Jadyn x OPEN
From a scale of one to unenthused, Jadyn was unenthused beyond measures. She only decided to accept the invitation as a formality. LBJ might have cut ties with the Capitol as far as the water exchange went, but they still needed to play nice if they were going to survive in this town in peace. So, if Olinger wanted to throw a party to celebrate the recent capture of the Dogs, then she’d amuse him by attending.
Formal dances never fell in line with Day’s interests. If she’d ever went to one, she would have been part of the security detail, not a participant. It was almost foreign in a way. Her scene aligned more with clubs and bars. Not somewhere so fancy and prestigious. The sooner the night would come to an end; the better. On the bright side, she was able to see a couple of familiar faces from her connection with the APD, DoJ, and even – to some extent – the DoR.
It was just a little weird that they’d be meeting again like this.
Jadyn had asked Babs to come with her since she was the only one she could trust to back her up if anything went wrong. She didn’t think the chances of Olinger pulling a stint was high, but she couldn’t be entirely sure either. Despite the fact that she was dressed the part, Day wasn’t here to have a good time. She was here to see what the hell the Mayor was up to and possibly gather some intel. Twirling a glass of wine for show, her eyes scanned the room as she stood in a corner. She had made point of where all the exits were, in case they needed a quick escape. Even though she’d been to the Capitol before, it never hurt to double check.
Sometime upon arrival, Babs had split off from her. She now searched the room for both her and Savannah. It was best to have them in her line of vision. She might have been wearing a dress for the occasion, but she had foregone heels for flats and she had chosen a darker attire to conceal the weapons she’d brought. With any luck, she’d have no reason to draw them out this evening.
