She expected him to be harsher. She wondered if that was partly why she'd come in here, to sit with him. Because she wanted to hear it. Then, she opted to just ask for it, literally.

That they're out there, and anything could have happened to them, they could all be dead, and it's my fault, because I cleared it. Because I didn't stop it. I didn't even try to stop it. Sepphy didn't look at him when she said it, voice soft in the dimness, and even so it echoed slightly in the big empty space. Her eyes were on a middle distance, as her arms were hugged around her middle in an unconscious self comforting gesture.
