“I’m pregnant.” It’s the first time Teagan has said it out loud and she can’t even hear it. She can barely hear what the Ditch Bitch is threatening her with. She can see this woman’s lips move, feel the cold tip of her knife at her throat and feel the sting of the point as it punctures the first few layers of skin.
The only thing she has to lose is the baby. Everything else is gone. She has no other chips to play. This is the only collateral she can use. This one fact.
And Teagan really doesn’t think it will matter. Why should this Bitch Queen care that Teagan has a life growing inside of her. Why should anyone down here care that she has the chance to be a mother to another child or that she wants that more than anything.
It is so against her nature to beg but she has no choice. Being a mother means sacrifice. Even if it goes against everything she wants to do or say the word comes out in a hush, “Please….”
