Gone is the smirk that Bishop would have normally worn, in it’s place is a grim look of acceptance as the patrolmen advance towards them. Going willingly is the last thing he wants to do, but the crew at their backs reminds him why they’re doing this, the people back at the camp -- people they love -- is the other reminder, both strong forces to make the officers do what needs to be done. Every last man with a patch and every last person housed within the Dog Parks walls are why Rodeo has agreed to this deal, and if Bishop were in his shoes he would have done the very same thing. Even despite his agreement with this, every muscle and tendon in his body is tense and ready to fight, and it takes all he has in him to hold onto his self-control and calm while faced with the Mayor’s flying monkeys. He does though, not even moving a muscle as the patrolmen take down Sarge, a sight that just cements Bishop’s own resolve not to fight this. His only show of rebellion comes when he pushes himself up into a standing position. If these monkeys are going to cuff him, Bishop’s going to be standing when they do it.
“On the ground,” The patrolmen approaching him hollers, and Bishop just shakes his head slowly.
“Ain’t going to happen,” The Chaplain drawls, expression steely as he holds his hands in front of him. “I ain’t going to fight, but I also sure as hell ain’t going to be kneeling when you cuff me.” It’s a pride thing, or it’s his own small way of fighting these minions. His mind is already racing in circles, already preparing for whatever they’ll face once the steel is around their wrists. La Quinta is an unknown entity, a fortress none of them have so much as set foot in before. A grim little voice whispers that they may never see it, that the Mayor may end them all long before their footsteps echo off the walls of that building.
Bishop tips his head up to the sky for one brief moment before he’s dropping his gaze again, turning his head to look at Teagan as he mouths ’I love you’ quick enough that only she would catch it.
