For many, working at the wall is an effective way to vent the frustration and rage they feel over not being able to strike back at the cats immediately. Rodeo has been on the move all day, but after his unfortunate encounter with Lita and her (mostly) innocent coworker, Rodeo needs to do something with all the energy pent up in his angry fists and tensed muscles. They built this wall in two days, and the repairs to the damage done by the RPG will be done in far less-- but it still seems like there's so much work to be done.
A breach in the wall was always anticipated. For the past two years, materials have been stockpiled for just such an eventuality. Built with brick, sealed by steel and cement, the wall is solid but certainly not impenetrable. As was shown today. Luckily, their location far outside of the city's limits in the wasteland that was once a national park keeps the hordes from interfering with the build-- save for a few stragglers who find their way across the deserted miles of empty dust. A few stragglers and-- a teenager?
What is with those high school kids?
Rodeo just finishes stacking some of the bricks he's carried from the hangar out to the wall when he looks up and notices the young man through the smashed section of wall. He watches as their visitor swings an axe to fell two intrepid geeks who have found their way across the desert, and he lifts his brows and steps forward, angling himself so that he can easily remove the gun from inside of his cut if this isn't a friendly visit. Considering the last visitor they had from the high school, Rodeo is sure this will be interesting at least.
"You comin' from the kiddie pool, partner?" Rodeo asks, glancing towards the load the young man carries before bringing his gaze back to his face. Rodeo is distrustful of all the folks who call the high school home, but if this kid honestly means to help he might make an exception.
