(Feel free see Lita out of the apartment in an outwardly fashion in subsequent replies <3)
Lita did not miss the tiny touch Isaac bestowed upon Demi's beck and shoulder. It was such a small thing and yet Lita almost felt like she needed to look away. Stumbling into their apartment right as they were about to get it on was one thing; being privy to an intimate gesture of affection seemed huge to the emotionally-stunted doctor and she vowed to herself she would see herself out at the earliest possible convenience. The soft touch was probably meant to comfort, to reassure, or, perhaps, to promise to continue whatever they had started before Lita had arrived but whatever it was, Lita felt awkward being a party to it.
"Well, I know a thing or two about paperwork as well," Lita commiserates with Isaac. "And cases, too, though the nature of mine tend to be solved with sutures and staples rather than closing arguments. Still, sounds like you've got your hands full."
Isaac's question about the nature of her work was understandable, especially considering she was more of a jack-of-all-trades nowadays than a strict surgeon.
"I was, and am, a general surgeon," Lita starts, giving the quick and dirty version of her daily duties. "So that covers a whole spectrum of procedures but with the times being what they are I do a bit of everything. Including but not limited to house calls, as you can see."
Lita rubs her hands together, wipes them on her pants, and stands. She's done what she came to do; no need to overstay her welcome. Besides, if she hightails out of here quick enough, maybe the two lovebirds can pick up where they left off.
"Well, as can be plainly seen, you are not, in fact, dead or maimed so I can return to the hospital confident I have done my friend/doctorly duties and see myself out," Lita says to Demi, amusement flickering across her face. Lita turns to Isaac. "Maybe we can do this again sometime except, you know, planned ahead of time. Next time we'll make sure there's less nudity and more alcohol. I'll let you think about it and, in the meanwhile, I'll head out. Wouldn't want to be a party to a man playing hooky from work, you know. Bad for business."
Chances were, if Isaac knew who she was in cahoots with, he might not be so amiable to her being friends with his girlfriend. Still, Lita couldn't help but feel a detached sort of affection for the man who had stolen her friend's heart and loyalty.
