It’d even brought a sliver of a smile onto her face as she came to a steady halt. Her eyes veered over to the corner where the voice originated. She didn’t bother to turn to face him, whoever he was. No point yet. He was hidden within the confines of the shadow. Even if she’d adjusted to the darkness, she wouldn’t be able to distinguish a face from the body. Not that it mattered. “The only one making noise,” she responded lightly, “is you.” Making a sweeping gesture at the tunnel with her arm, she pretended to look around as she went on innocently, “I hear no other cazzo disrupting the peace with his voce.”
A slight giggle slipped its way into her voice as she lifted a finger to her lips. “Now, be quiet and listen closely,” she said in a low whisper, finally twirling around on the heel of her boot, “Do you hear that?” She leaned forward a bit, staring straight at where he should be. A mischievous glint had entered into her brown hues as she allowed the silence to fall back down like a heavy veil. Arden was well aware he was not alone. There was another presence further off, but she chose to ignore it. Irrelevant, they both were. Her hands had wrapped their ways around the hilts of her daggers though, ready to be brought out to play again if need be. “Silence.”
