Nina, too, was glad to get out of her shelter, if only for an hour. It was easy to forget that the neutral bar did exist, though she'd been there once before. Life at the Capitol was both entirely suffocating and all-encompassing; it was both her entire world and the last place she wanted to be.
She was happy that her Patrolmen didn't follow her to the White Trail, of course. It was the smallest mercy she could hope for during this tense time in her life.
"Me, too," she told the waiter, following it up with a polite smile that she then directed to her friend. She took a moment to sort through the days that had passed since they'd last met and came up empty handed. Even though their last meeting had been focused primarily on work and politics, Nina was a woman who saw her social and personal life as relatively uneventful.
"You know, I feel like there should be more to say?" She shook her head, smiling wryly. "I work, I go home, I read my books. Most of the time that suits me just fine. Everything else that could be considered 'interesting' belongs to other people, not me. How about you, Jadyn?"
