Avengers Comms
"Guys, I need some assistance downtown. We've got a fire and a lot of people trapped inside. We've gotta get up and around emergency responders to get in. I can hear a lot of people inside, so I need all of you ASAP. I'm heading in. Keep in contact with me." Mitch sounds like he's running, and the sound of crashing debris is in the background. Police sirens are screaming.

"Sounds like a job for Spider-Man!" Thomas's voice comes in over the comms. sounding breathless. He'd answered the call to arms mid-swing. "What's your location, Cap?"

"Couple of streets over from Chambers Street. You can't miss it," Mitch grunts, and there's clanking noises as something hits his shield. "It sounds like the majority of civilians are above the tenth floor."

"Got it." A small 'oof' as Thomas makes his landing. "Bloody hell, everyone's here. What's going on, Steel?" You can faintly hear Jen's voice in the background of Thomas's comm link greeting him. "Hey Cap, they're working on clearing some of this smoke so I'm going in."

"I could use a lift in," Sam responds about a minute later. You can hear the roar of her bike as she speeds up closer to a nearby ramp, getting ready to make the jump from her bike as it sails over a section of the barrier and into the restricted area behind the blockade. "In about... five seconds?"

There's a noise that sounds a little like an 'oof' as Samantha's picked up, the shouts of protest from officers behind the police line and the grind of her motorcycle skidding to a halt on the ground below them in the background. "Thanks, fly boy. Wanna drop me off on that fire escape just below the tenth floor?"

A short silence before a loud clanging sound and a grunt that means Sam's hit the fire escape. "I can hear some shouts for help just inside. Hover nearby in case I need to hand anybody off to you?"

A few seconds later and Sam's voice comes over the comm again. "I've got a couple people making their way to you. Not badly injured but they've inhaled a lot of smoke. I'll-" Before Sam can finish her sentence, you can hear the deafening sound of part of a ceiling giving way and collapsing to the ground.

There's another moment of radio silence before Sam's voice finally cuts through the static, an edge to hers also, though maybe a different kind. She sounds cautious, guarded as she speaks. "I'm fine." She coughs. "But this side of the floor is compromised. Coming back out."

Already the backpack he was sporting was spewing out pieces of metal which started to clamp around his limbs. "I take it from Widow's observation that I'm gonna see this place airborne."

"Actually," The sound of the fire crackling can be heard through Mitch's comms. He's not exactly thinking of self-preservation while he's looking for civilians. "We might need your science brain. Think you can figure out where the fire's originating from? There's no way this is natural, and we gotta get it out if we want any hope of getting everyone to safety."
