Agency Caretaking is the first department you most likely come into contact with as a new reincarnate. We’re made up of a dedicated, hardworking team of caretakers whose main job is to find and locate new reincarnates. We’re the ones who (hopefully) reassure you that you aren’t, in fact, going crazy. And as crazy as this sounds, the Caretaking department has a magically interactive map that lights up in different areas of the world whenever a new reincarnate pops up, which is how we’re able to find you. It’s not foolproof, sometimes things still fall through the cracks, but very rarely. We’re usually the first reincarnates you meet, barring any family members or friends who have already been reincarnated. We find you, we talk to you about what being a reincarnate means, about the reincarnate community and what it’s been going through, and how the Agency can help you. The person from our department who shows up on your doorstep is your official caretaker until they deem you fully adjusted, the adjustment period being one that is varied and highly depends on the person and their reincarnate. Reincarnation isn’t easy, and harder for some than others, so we're here to guide you through it. Director Scarlett Jones and her team of caretakers are available to help make that transition easier, day or night. Just try not to think any awkward thoughts in Scarlett’s office.
Unlike the standard Agency regulations, here you must be at least twenty-one years old to apply for an internship. All new hires will start out as an intern for a period of at least a year until you are deemed fit for a full time position. Interns are only allowed three charges under their care at one time to see how they handle the workload. No additional schooling or prior work experience is necessary, since all members of the caretaking department will attended required weekly seminars on proper reincarnate care.
