E-mail is heavily encrypted, but possible for the tech savvy Avengers to break for the rest of the team.

Wilder's been compromised, most likely dead. Went missing for a few days after a SHIELD assignment, followed a trail to his private office. No trace of him there, the place was wiped clean and recently. All his private files were erased with no recent data uploads. Someone tried to get to them and he got there first.

Going to follow this trail as far as it takes me. My brother's funeral is tomorrow. Please don't contact me unless it's important.

There is an overwhelming sense of relief once he reads the email. The words don't matter much, the gesture is everything and while the memories of their last encounter are still at the forefront of his mind the nagging sense of potential loss has dissipated.

What happened between them could never be undone. Chances were they'd find themselves in the same situation sooner rather than later. Would they handle it any better? Probably not but at least they could recover from it.
