Jim merely grinned, because of course Matthias would get his true meaning. A Gamemaker, Jim might be, but he wasn't exactly one who ever strictly followed the rules. Matthias was the same way, it was one of the many reasons they got along so splendidly. And Jim just adored his little sister. She was so eager, and so helpful in placing their illegal bets every year.
"Oh, really, you shouldn't have. Actually, scratch that, you should have. If you didn't think of me every time you saw a girl fight, I might accuse you of not knowing me as well as you think."
People around them laughed, and Jim chuckled openly to the crowd, before shifting his full attention to Matthias. He even turned his back to the rest of the circle, and made no apologies for it. He was a Gamemaker, after all, no one would dare to argue. And Jim? He was tired of small talk. He'd much rather converse with Matthias, and only Matthias. Jim was a hard one to keep, but when it came to District Ten's escort, the man had a unique way of keeping the Gamemaker's undivided attention.
With the hand that was currently wrapped around his glass of champagne, Jim reached out with his fingers to gently brush along the other man's exposed wrist. Such a subtle touch, but one that was meant to be noticed. Jim enjoyed being responsible for all the speculative gossip and whispers around the place, by now most people knew, but were no less jealous. He liked to keep it that way. "You know, Matthias, you really should learn to walk on the more wild side of life..."
