Re: Weather Anomalies
He hadn't thought about it at the time, but now he was grateful that she'd decided to take his offered hand instead of using the opportunity to bury that axe he saw her carrying in his gut. Not that he would have blamed her if she had, he had more or less set himself up for it. Liam wasn't like most of the other tributes in here, he wasn't actively fighting to survive this, but she probably was. Sooner or later, that was going to catch up to him.
Liam followed her automatically, if nothing else but because he wasn't sure what else to do. Any direction would more than likely lead him to something treacherous like this, better to brave it with someone else than alone. For all his bad attitude and self-deprecating ways, Liam didn't actually like being alone. He stumbled after her, leaping over the same tree root (a little more carefully, he wasn't used to the sword and was very conscious of not stabbing himself with it. That would be humiliating.) and going as quick as he could until they both burst into a small clearing.
The ground seemed to stop shaking instantly, which was more than a little suspicious, but Liam wasn't going to complain. If this was a real chance to catch his breath, he'd take it, throwing down his bag and weapon on the ground and bending forward with hands on his knees. "Jesus. Thought the earth was actually gonna cave in underneath us for a minute there."
