"Yes ma'am," Thomas replied with a grin of his own, eagerly leaning forward to kiss her back. That definitely made it all worth it, and he held onto her as long as he humanely could before they both needed to breathe and he needed to bring out the last thing to complete their romantic, Valentine's apocalypse dinner. "Just a sec."
He kissed her one last time before reaching for his bag and pulling out one more can of food, the look on his face almost comical how obviously proud of himself he was. He presented the can of peaches to her like it was some kind of prized possession, a gift of honor. Which it kind of was, there were only so many cans of peaches in the supply truck, and none of them were up for grabs when food wasn't being portioned out. Charlie would kill him and bring him back to life just to kill him again for the candles and the peaches too.
"For dessert, I got us some peaches." The grin on his face said it all, he was hoping she'd be impressed. He lived to impress her, seeing her face light up whenever he did something right (which was not all the time, being the reincarnate of Peter Parker came with a given number of daily screw ups) was better than pizza. And he really liked pizza. "Be honest, is this all totally lame and stupid?"
