Muggle Regulator Found Dead; Cousin to War Hero Was Not Murdered, Despite Rumors
by Astoria Greengrass
London (Prophet News Services)--The Ministry has confirmed the death of Dudley Dursley, agent of the Department of Regulation of Magical Creatures and Unexplained Phenomena and cousin to war hero Harry Potter. Dursley died of natural causes. He was found in his London flat by a colleague after failing to report to work.
Department of Magical Law Enforcement spokeswitch Marie Featherstone-Goyle issued the following statement:
Although initial reports of Agent Dursley's death suggested that foul play was involved, following an autopsy, St Mungo's has confirmed that the cause of death was natural. The Hit Wizard Division expects the case to be formally closed next week based on this information.
The entire Department is stricken by the loss of Regulator Dursley. He was both a good man, and a valuable asset with his skills on the job. This loss is one that will be deeply felt by many. He is a man that more should have been lucky enough to know, and everyone in the department was lucky enough to work with him every day. He contributed a great deal to the department though his hard work, and there will never be another like him. Of course, his loss will not go uninvestigated. The department is currently looking into the case to determine the nature of the death. In respect for Regulator Dursley's memory, the case will be handled with the utmost care to insure the case is brought to the proper conclusion.
