Ky's brow furrowed, little wrinkles forming under Everrett's thumb briefly before disappearing again, the touch smoothing them away. He could see the sadness but didn't know what caused it. Pity was something he was unfamiliar with, something he didn't quite understand so he could never see it. All he saw was the sadness that hadn't been there before.
"It doesn't bother me, not really. I just--it's how I grew up, and I didn't know any better then, so it doesn't make those times less happy in my memory. I'm still not sure if I do know better," he murmured, though he was certainly trying. He hoped maybe he could go back and educate his people about humans and wizards, and maybe he wouldn't be asked to kill any then.
"Why do I awe you?" The question was soft, his hand moving to rest idly on Everrett's hip.
