Walking forward despite himself, Chris looked at the area the other man was watching so closely, eyes narrowed a bit. "Spell damage," he said, frowning now. "It's everywhere. The residue..." Shaking his head, he touched the wall above where Smith was kneeling. His fingertips came away grimy and he tried to ignore the faint pulse of magic he'd felt through the stone. Inanimate objects were often used to channel magical powers, intensify and enhance them. He'd never heard of cobbles, concrete, and brick doing that, though. It seemed whatever it was just lingered, not quite there but not quite leaving, either.
